One of our more recent projects displaying our Muted Tidal Regulator (MTR) system is the Fisher Slough tidegate system, in Mount Vernon Washington. This system is revolutionary because the gates remain fully open until the interior level of water dictates a closing. This means these gates are default open which greatly extends the time fish passage is available. Creating a muted or small interior tide allows the habitat to return to a productive state that was eliminated when the area was levied off. (sometimes a century or more) The flushing action on the inside makes the area available and suitable to raise fish and other organisms again (restoration).
